Toning your extensions

You have lovely platinum/ash blonde hair but no extensions to match. In this post I will tell you how to get your extensions to match your hair colour.

Firstly you might want to buy new extensions as I do not recommend bleaching them. I always buy the colour #60 Platinum Blonde in 100% Remy extensions*. It is the lightest shade you can buy but I still find them too yellow.

I dont use a toner, but a silver shampoo by De Lorenzo, as you are only lightening it a little and not going from a brassy orange and yellow. If you are, how ever you may want to use a proper toner which is completely fine. I use Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Toner.

First i separated the extensions into two halves, then tied them both up at the ends of the clips. This makes them tangle less when there wet**. I applied the silver shampoo to dry hair and left it on for 10-15 which was too long and resulted in a silver/purple colour. I would recommend applying the silver shampoo to wet hair and maybe massaging it in a bit longer then usual. You can always rinse it out and repeat till you get your desired colour. Remember that the hair is always darker when wet. and to apply heat protective spray before blow drying and styling.

Notes-
*I buy my extensions from 20" 100% Remy Hair, Blonde Clip In and I buy two lots.
**I leave the hair tied up as I blow dry to keep them untangled. Never brush wet hair.
